"Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all of this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinquish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Ephesians 6:14-17

Letter from Jared...

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let everyone know how I am doing and also to pass along some much needed thank you's. I am feeling pretty good, this past week was a very good week. Tomorrow afternoon I am checking back into the hospital (Harris H-E-B) to start Round 2 of chemotherapy. It was only two weeks ago that we started the chemo and we are hopeful that we can stay on a two week schedule. Thankfully I will only have to stay in the hospital for five days this go around. My doctors are very pleased with the way everything is going so far, and we are as well. The side effects from my treatments have been very minimal so far and we ask for prayers for that to continue. We feel very well taken care of so far, the outpouring of support and prayers have been overwhelming. This situation that I find myself is not about me having leukemia, there's not a question of whether I am going to come out of this healed, but what I am keeping my eyes on is the plan the Lord has for Christina and I through this journey. We expect for the Lord to be glorified through this experience, and that is our prayer and I ask for it to be your prayer as well. Let me say thank you to my families, The Waters have been just what I have needed through this and that is just being the Waters, The Smiths especially Mary have gone above and beyond for us, The Schliemers, Souths, Leatons have been so good to us we can never say thank you enough. Grace Community Church and Pastor Eric have been so helpful to us, and to all of the local Fire Departments especially Haltom City Fire Department thank you, your generosity to me and my family will never be forgotten. To my friends at Rainforest, thank you for continuing to care for me and my family. I am so richly blessed in every aspect, and I will never forget the love of the Lord and friends, family and strangers that I have experienced in these past few weeks. Thank you all so much, and don't hesitate to come visit me, I love visitors (unless there is a no visitor sign hanging up, then I'm just probably tired :)!

I love you all,

Jared

Jared,

I know it may be hard to believe, but we just heard about this recently. Had we known, we would have contacted you sooner. I enjoyed reading your blog, and especially your attitude of victory thru this current battle. I know you've heard it a thousand times by now, but our thoughts and prayers really are with you.

If you're really bored, and want to bum a free lunch off an old friend of your folks, please give me a call. It would be good to see you again. I can be reached @ cell 817-995-0737 or cbadger@premierbank.com.

Take care.

Love,

Chris & Lucy

Jared,
I don't think we've ever met, but I am Dan's friend of about 10 years. In this world we all need the support of our fellow man and brother. I pray for your recovery and praise you for your positive attitude on this tough time in your life. I truly believe that this is one of those cases that will have a very positive outcome!
