Home Again, Home Again...
Jareds surgery on Friday went well to put the port in his head. Saturday they were able to go home but not before Jared had a transfusion of 4 bags of blood. This round of chemo has been very hard on Jared, the side effects are very painful. He is trying to stay positive but we all know that is hard to do when you are in extreme pain. Please pray for the side effects to be lessened and that Jared can get some restful sleep (and Christina too!).
Jared really enjoys reading the posts that many of you have written so please continue to do so. We know this is an encouragement and faith-builder for him and Christina. It just helps to see that people are thinking about and praying for them.
Please continue to pray for Jared, especially now as he is recovering from the second round of chemo. We believe that the Lord is healing Jared and we look towards the day when he can shout from the roof tops that he is completely and utterly healed!
We cannot tell you how much we appreciate all of you. Your prayers are meeting every need we have, thank you for that!

Uncle Jared,
I can't wait for you to feel better so you can come swimming with me. I will share my alligators with you and maybe even my ball. Remember I will come see you anytime and show you my amazing crawling skills.
I love you!

Beardid,
I love you and I am praying for you. You know that I am available to do anything at anytime, just let me know! Wish you could have seen Jess last night, she was standing on the chair in the kitchen, freaking out like a crazy woman all because of a little water bug. It was classic Jessica, you would have loved it! It kind of reminded me of you and bees! Christina you are an amazing woman and I really admire your strength and love for Jared, you know that I am here for you girl, for anything, anything at all.
All my love,
Joanna

Hey buddy, I know you are not feeling real good right now and probably do not feel like talking on the phone so I am going to use the wonder of the internet to say hi. Plus by typing instead of talking to you it looks like I am working, bonus! I was cleaning up my office the other day and I came across some pictures of us from our high school debating days, I think it was the Greenhill tournament, but I was reminded of something. Your senior year you were trying to qualify for the state tournament and you were not having much luck getting the last few points you needed. It seemed like you always either drew a bad judge or had to go up against someone that even Kyle would have struggled against. Anyway, you never lost your determination to get those last points. You kept working and researching and rewriting your cases. If my memory is correct I think you and your dad drove down to Houston, on your own dime, to the Memorial Tourney as a last effort to get qualified and you debated as well as you ever had and you got the points and went to state. I guess what I am going for is, you do not have it in you to stop pushing toward your goal. You are the most determined person I know and that is why I know you are going to beat this. It breaks my heart to know the discomfort you are in right now and you have not left my prayers since we found out. But because I know you so well and because I know God is on your side, I know you are going to get through this. I love you buddy and I'll talk to you soon.

RECALL GOD'S MERCIES - Psalm 103----
1. He forgives all your sins.
2. He heals all your diseases.
3. He redeems your life from destruc- tion.
4. He crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies.
5. He satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6. He executes righteousness and judgement for you against oppression. He sets you free.
7. He makes known His ways to you.
8. He gives you His grace and mercy in times of need.
---Watch these things come alive in you as you say them OUT LOUD to the LORD each day. By the end of this year you'll be stronger in faith and more confident of GOD'S love than you've ever been before! GOD'S MERCIES ARE NEW EVERY MORNING. SO, REKINDLE YOUR HOPE AND STIR YOUR FAITH DAILY BY RECALLING HIS BENEFITS.
Marilyn & Ed Love you very much and pray for you night and day....

That's a great point Jason. Thanks for the tip! ("I'm sorry, I can't work on [insert project from random co-worker] right now. As you can see I am very busy typing something that requires my undivided attention.")
I just want to echo Jason's words. I was in constant amazement throughout high school with your undying commitment to debate. Elocution came very easily to me but you really worked hard to refine your skills and build your cases. And WOW did you get some crummy out-round draws! I wish that I had half the commitment and determination that you did. You were and still are a real inspiration to me. I love you man.

Jared,
Joanna told me what was going on and I have been praying for you and Christina. I ran across this verse last week and I wanted to share it with you.
"As for me, I look to the Lord for his help. I wait confidently for God to save me and my God will certainly hear me." ~ Micah 7:7
We will all wait CONFIDENTLY knowing that God will save you and that He hears all of our cries to him, even when we don't know how to. You know you and your family have always been an extremely important part of my life and I want you and Christina to know that if there is ever anything tangible that I can do, please let me know.
I love you guys!

Jarrod,
I know you have had a rough couple of days but I am brought to a scripture in Isaiah 53:4-5 "Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him. And by His stripes we are healed." I just want to encourage you and say, every pain you feel, He has felt. Every ache in your body, has ached in His body. And every tear you have shed, He has shed. The Lord knows and feels your suffering but He is also faithful. So continue to draw close to Him and He will draw close to you. I love you and miss you, I can't wait to see you. Go Mavs!

Dear Jared,
I heard you are having a hard time tonight. Please know that we are lifting you up in prayer that God will wrap you in His arms and take away all of your pain and give you rest. You are such a strong person and your faith is a witness to everyone around you, including me. I know God will heal you completely -- until then we will all stand with you and Christina in prayer and faith. I wish I could be there in person to give you a hug and hear some of your famous wit and sarcasm. :) Thinking of you and praying tomorrow will be a better day.
Love, Lish
