A Time of Transition...
We believe that in the next week Jared will be entering a time of transition. They have already begun to feed him small amounts through a tube and he has handled it well, which it a huge praise, but they will continue to do this and up the amount little by little. We pray his body will continue to handle that well. Also they will begin moving Jared off the ventilator and testing what he is able to do on his own, he is currently regulating his own breathing but is still having some assistance from the vent. We are still praying for clear and strong lungs. Jared has begun to wake up more in the past few days and becoming more aware of what is going on. This is very hard and frustrating for him because he is trying to communicate with us by writing and gesturing but he is still foggy and we are not good guessers so this makes for a very unnerving situation for him. Please pray that Jared will be settled and peaceful while he is unable to clearly communicate with us, and that we can catch a clue every now and again.
Jared's care has been impeccable, we can only rant and rave about the nurses, doctors and techs that have taken care of him. The really do treat him like he is one of their own which is very comforting to us since we are only able to see him four times a day for about an hour and a half each visit. Christina will start back teaching a few days this week so please pray for strength and peace as she is away from Jared.
Thank you for your prayers and encouraging comments, they are life to us! Hopefully in the next few days we will have more good news to report but as we are finding out this is a slow and tedious process, so we just wait and trust the Lord in every small step forward Jared makes.

To our amazing family, It is so so nice to hear that Jared is making progress. I have never witnessed such strength in one human being before, and I am constantly amazed by Jared's fight. We continue to pray for Jared's healing and God's continued grace and mercy on all of you. We will pray for peace for all who have signed up to fight this battle with Jared, and we will be praying for more improvements in the days to come.

My daughter is a student in Mrs. Water's class and has been in cluding both Jared and Cristina in her prayers, as have my husband and I. Mrs. Waters has been an exceptional teacher in the face of such personal trials, and there is no doubt Jared is an exceptional individual as well. We extend to her and Jared and the entire Waters family our prayer and hope.

Dearest Jared, Christina, and Waters family,
I am so blessed by you all. I can not imagine how difficult the road you are traveling is; however, I can see the fruit that you are yielding and know that it is far reaching. You all are such a significant part of God's testimony. It is easy to see who He is by the love that you show one another. It is easy to believe in the midst of our trials that "God Is" when we see that your eyes have been fixed on Him and He has been, is, and will be your every hope. If our purpose is to glorify God, then you are all walking in the very purpose for which He created you. Thank you for your testimony. Thank you for your example. It is my blessing to pray for you, to intercede on your behalf, to lift you before the throne of grace, and to ask God to be who He is, our Savior.
Jared - I have read your story and learned from your words. You are so very admirable. You are such a godly man. You are impressive in your wisdom and in the grip that you have on faith. Remember that God is always faithful. I love you.
In Him,

We are praying constantly for all of you - Jared and family - and we know that God will answer our prayers for your health and peace. We wish we could all visit. The kids ask about going to see "Mr. Jared" in the "hopital". I wish I had eloquent words of encouragment, but I guess I'll have to leave that to Kyle. :) Anyway, just know we send you our prayers and love.

He took our suffering on him and felt our pain for us--Isaiah 53:4
Jesus knows how you feel. YOu're under the gun at work? Jesus knows how you feel. YOu've got more to do than is humanly possible? So did he. People take more from you than they give? Jesus understand. You are precious to him. So precious that he became like you so that you would come to him. When you struggle, he listens. When you yearn, he responds. When you question, he hears. He has been there.
This was laid on my heart to share with you. Keep battling, keep holding to your faith through your everyday struggle for Jared's well being. We are with you every step of the way!
Much love and prayers my dear family,
Jennifer V.
