"Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all of this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinquish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Ephesians 6:14-17

Round Three...

Jared checked into Harris HEB today to start round three of his chemo treatments. He is in room 208 and you can call him at (817) 685-4208. Visitors are more than welcome at this time but please call his room before you come to make sure it is a good time.

He was released on Monday from Baylor and was able to spend a few nights at home(that's always a good thing). On Tuesday his staples were removed from his head where they put in the port. Wednesday he had is blood levels checked and they decided they were good enough to start the next round of chemo.

Please continue to pray for the following -
  • Complete healing in Jared's body.
  • Maximum results, minimum side effects, when it comes to the chemo
  • Jared's ports would be accessed easily and on the first attempt
  • Jared and Christina would continue to find favor with the Medicare, SSI Disability and Hospital Business offices.

Thank you for your continued prayer and support, we are so grateful for it. Please continue to post messages to Jared and Christina, they are so encouraging to them.

"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed." 1 Peter 2:24

Jared and Christina,

I love you two so much. My family and I are lifting you up to the Lord in prayer every day.

Be strong. There is a host of angels surrounding you and ministering to you. You can't see them, but they are there with power. Remember Elisha and his servant in II Kings 6...

(v15) And the servant of the man of God arose early and went out. And, behold, an army surrounded the city, and horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, Alas, my master! What shall we do?

(v16) And he answered, Do not fear, for those with us are more than those with them.

(v17) And Elisha prayed and said, I pray You, LORD, open his eyes so that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Draw strength from the Lord and from his angels and he will see you through this.

Love always,

-KG

Jared & Christina,
I wanted to let you guys know I had a great time watching the Mavs with you the other night, even though they choked. It was just like old times. Fortunately we are not incredibly far away from being able to watch what should be a pretty good Chiefs team. Do you think the hosiptal subscribes to NFL Sunday Ticket? Maybe if we tip your nurses it could be arranged.

Stay strong and take comfort in the fact that there are so many people lifting you two up.

Jared & Chrissy,
The Burke family is behind you 100%. We love you both and have you in our hearts at all times. Jared, I feel constantly compelled to try and somehow put words to my feelings for you (and I know it sounds a bit...hmmm...gay saying that) but you are my RHU brother and are also my one true ally dealing w/ these Smith girls. (you know what I'm talking about!!!!!!!!!)
anyway, we're praying for you always!,

Jared, I have started to leave you a note about a half dozen times but just couldn't find the words to say what I felt. It has been my honor to know your family for about 13 years, all of you are just the best. As odd as this may sound I think those of us that stand on the perimeter & witness your family's strength are humbled by the faith, love & dedication you have for each other. So I know you will travel this path, as difficult as it may be at times, to wellness & even greater strength in faith & family. You, Christina, your Mom & Dad, Joanna & her 2 guys & Jessica are in my daily thoughts & prayers. Thank you for allowing me to witness your journey via this wonderful web-site.
