Round Four...Done!
Jared finished his fourth round of chemo yesterday and was sent home last night. He is having some trouble with his throat swelling and his mouth is soar but this round is nothing compared to the second round that sent him back into the hospital. Thank you everyone for you continued prayers, please pray for the following:
- Jared's immune system to be strengthened
- That the Lord would protect him from any infection
- For rest and peace during this time of recovery
- For the maximum effect of the chemo and the minimum side effects
- For complete healing
Thank you so much for posting comments last week, they were very encouraging to Jared and Christina. We appreciate all your love, prayers and support, may the Lord bless you for all you have given to us.

I'm so glad to hear things went better with this round of chemo -- one more round down! I hope you enjoy being back at home and get plenty of R&R while you get your strength back. We are praying for you and Christina everyday!

Jared and Christina,
Just wanted you to know our family is continuing to pray for you both. I thought you might like to read a poem that was written by our oldest daughter Andrea who also had ALL (she was diagnosed when she was 7).
Don't Quit
It might be hard to keep on going, it might be hard to win. But, at least you will know that you kept on going, kept on going clear to the end because you are going to win. Because you have to make it you have to win, you have to keep on going. Because you are going to make it, you are going to win as long as you keep your thoughts positive. So stick to the race when you're hardest hit, it's when things get worse that you must not quit.
BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING TO WIN!!!
I wrote this poem to inspire kids with cancer so they would know that you have to keep on going, you can't just quit! It's hard not to give up, it is hard to keep on going, it's hard to win, but you have to keep on trying, you have to keep on going, you have to win! Because God is with you fighting all the way. He's right there behind you to keep you going, to keep you strong. Because you are doing this together, you are fighting together, you are winning together. You can't do this by yourself, He has to be there with you, He has to be right there behind you, and you have to let Him help you. Because if He is not there with you someone else will be there taking all the good thoughts out of your head and putting in bad ones. And you don't want that, nobody does because you'll get weaker and he'll get stronger and he'll start winning and you'll start giving in and it will be a whole lot harder to keep going with the wrong person on your back. So, keep your thoughts positive and keep on going with God on your back, not Satan, he's no help, only trouble. So, keep God on your back and keep on fighting, and keep on winning because with God behind you, you will always win. So you must keep on going, you must not quit because with God behind you, you'll always win. So you must keep on going, you must not quit because with God behind you, you'll always win! You'll always, always, always, WIN!
Jared, you are an inspiration to those around you and the power of God. Keep on fighting:)
