"Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all of this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinquish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Ephesians 6:14-17

Round Five...Done!

Jared finished his fifth chemo treatment today and went home this afternoon. This treatment went well, just the standard nausea and fatigue. He is happy to be home recovering and spending time with his girls, Christina & Molly.

Please post some encouraging notes to Jared as he gets some much needed R&R this week.

We know we have said it over and over again but your prayers and support are really what get us through this time so thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Round Five...

Jared went into the hospital yesterday to start his fifth round of chemo. This round is a little easier on him (that's all relative) as compared to the second and fourth rounds. With this round he usually deals with really bad heart burn and indigestion and the standard fatigue. Please pray that the chemo will have the maximum effect with minimal side effects and that Jared's body will stay strong in the midst of all these treatments.

Thank you for your continued support and constant prayers!

Keeping You in the Loop...

Sorry for the delay in this update, life has been a little busy for us but we are now getting back into our routine. Jared's counts are up which is great but we are still waiting and hoping that his platelets will go up. He has some sort of bite on his leg and we are praying for the inflammation to go down and that it won't spread anywhere else. Last week he had to go to the hospital three times to get blood and platelets and it looks like he will probably be doing the same this week. Jared's 5th round of chemo is set to start on Thursday or Friday, so please pray that all his levels are where they need to be for this round and that everything will go smoothly.

There is an upcoming Blood Drive for Jared on August 21 at Fire Station #1, 5525 Broadway Ave., Haltom City; from 9am - 2pm, the Carter Blood Care mobile bus will be there to take donations and to also give free cholesterol tests. If you are in the area and can make it please come by!

Thanks for your continued prayer and support!

Round Four...Done!

Jared finished his fourth round of chemo yesterday and was sent home last night. He is having some trouble with his throat swelling and his mouth is soar but this round is nothing compared to the second round that sent him back into the hospital. Thank you everyone for you continued prayers, please pray for the following:
  • Jared's immune system to be strengthened
  • That the Lord would protect him from any infection
  • For rest and peace during this time of recovery
  • For the maximum effect of the chemo and the minimum side effects
  • For complete healing

Thank you so much for posting comments last week, they were very encouraging to Jared and Christina. We appreciate all your love, prayers and support, may the Lord bless you for all you have given to us.

More Amazing News!

Jared and Christina continued to receive more amazing news this week. They received assistance from Baylor Grapevine which significantly decreased their medical bills from Jared's two visits there. What a tremendous blessing! Also before Jared went in for his last round of chemo they did a blood smear test and the results came back with NO CANCER in the blood! Praise the Lord! His oncologist is very pleased with the results of the last two tests. These tests show that the chemo treatment is working exactly the way is should be but we are not out of the woods yet, but we know that complete healing for Jared is soon to come.

His next round of chemo starts on Monday, this round is just like his second round where he had so many difficult side effects. Please pray that the chemo has the maximum effect with minimal side effects and that Jared, Christina, the nurses and doctors will all have wisdom on how to make this treatment better.

As you go about this week and pray for Jared and Christina please post them a message, it is especially encouraging to them while they are in the hospital. Thank you so much for your continued prayer and support, we know that all these amazing blessings are due in part to your constant prayer.
